In response to numerous enquiries from stakeholders, we would like to provide an update on the current status of our newly completed investment in Siechnice (as of 6 February 2025)
1. Commissioning of the New Investment
As previously announced, the new low-emission facility, Czechnica 2 CHP Plant, has been successfully commissioned and is now supplying our customers with heat and electricity. The peak-load and reserve boiler house, as well as the gas and steam unit, are currently undergoing regulatory adjustments.
2. Noise Emissions at Czechnica 2 CHP Plant
The noise emission issue is being addressed through a multi-stage process. Modifications to the operating mode and startup parameters of equipment, along with the installation of temporary soundproofing, have already helped reduce the intensity and duration of noise. At the end of January and the beginning of February, a silencer was installed on the blow-off system. Following this installation, measurements will be conducted, and further actions will be considered if necessary.
3. Timeline for Commissioning Remaining Installations
The final commissioning date for the remaining elements of the power plant is currently the subject of negotiation with the contractor. The exact date will be announced once all arrangements are finalised and the relevant agreements have been signed.
4. Planned Start of Continuous Operation (720-Hour Test Run) of EC Czechnica 2
Once the current phase of regulatory operation is completed, the plant will enter a 720-hour continuous trial operation phase.
5. Proceedings Related to Contractual Penalties
The contract for the construction of Czechnica CHP Plant includes detailed obligations for both parties, which form the basis for the current negotiations and the settlement of mutual claims. Issues relating to delays are currently being addressed through mediation before the Arbitration Court at the General Counsel to the Republic of Poland.
We are making every effort to ensure that the project is delivered to the highest standards, with full regard for the environment and the interests of our customers and stakeholders.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support in the implementation of this key investment.
